The Hatters announced that Ssangyong Motor Uk Ltd will be the new shirt sponsor for the next two years, with an option for two more beyond the initial deal’s expiry in 2018.

SsangYong’s logo will appear on the front of shirts supplied by Puma, who have agreed a long-term partnership that will see the Hatters become one of 26 professional British football clubs, along with Premier League champions Leicester City and Arsenal in wearing the German sportswear company’s kit.

Luton players Jack Marriott, Cameron McGeehan and Johnny Mullins were on hand to model the new shirts as Town’s chief executive Gary Sweet said: “It’s fantastic to have a global brand like SsangYong on board along with an established name in sportswear suppliers in Puma.

“SsangYong have been supporters of the football club for a while and boast many Kenilworth Road regulars among their workforce.

“They are determined to strengthen the links with the community in Luton, and are keen to support all of our teams from Nathan Jones’ side in League Two right through to the ladies and community teams we run.

“We have a few exciting mutual synergies between us which we’re looking to explore over the next few years.

“On behalf of the players, supporters and everyone at the club, I’d like to welcome both SsangYong and Puma to the Luton Town family at what is a very exciting time for the football club and the area as a whole.”

Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK Ltd, added: “I am delighted to be entering in to a partnership with Luton Town. I believe that both SsangYong Motor UK Ltd and Luton Town can look forward to sustained growth over the next few years and beyond.

“I was very excited when Gary first showed me the plans for not only a new ground at Power Court but also the mixed use development at Newlands Park.

“It will be of a real benefit to both the town and the club.

The Hatters’ partnership with NICEIC and ELECSA will continue as back of shirt sponsors on the orange home and white away strip respectively.

The Town’s new third kit for 2016-17 is purple, the same colour as Luton Borough Council’s new branding, and the club are delighted to donate the back of shirt sponsorship space to the Love Luton campaign.
