Midfielder Nathan Doyle believes that Hatters fans will start to see the real Luton over the coming weeks.
Town have made an indifferent start to the League Two campaign, but picked up a first home win over Mansfield Town last weekend.
“In the next few weeks I think you’ll see a good Luton Town side.”Nathan Doyle
Doyle, who made his return from injury against AFC Wimbledon in a Final Third Development League clash yesterday, is confident his side will go through the gears now.
He said: “We’ve had some good players come in, the standard in training has definitely upped and once we start clicking, I think we’ll be shooting up the league.
“With so many new signings, you’ve got to give them time to bed in. Now in the next few weeks I think you’ll see a good Luton Town side.”
Doyle himself has endured a frustrating campaign so far, making just four appearances before picking up a hamstring injury in the 1-0 defeat to Bristol Rovers on August 18.
However, he played for an hour in the 3-0 triumph against the Dons, although Saturday’s home clash against the same opponents, might be a bit too early for him.
He added: “I’m pleased to be back, it’s not nice when you’re injured and the physio’s have done a great job on me.
“I didn’t do a pre-season last year, but I’d done a pre-season this year, was hoping to kick on and then I felt my hamstring.
“It sets you back a couple of weeks and you just want to get back, get fit for the games and give the manager a bit of a selection decision to make.
“The lads played well against Mansfield and everyone deserves their shirt, but it’s different tactics for different games so we’ll see what happens.”
