Winger Ryan Hall was convinced he had made the perfect start to his Hatters career against Oxford United at the weekend.
With just five minutes gone, the recent acquisition from Rotherham United found the ball at his feet, 10 yards out from goal.
Hall’s fierce drive looked destined to ripple the net, only for keeper Ryan Clarke to pull off a fine save as the wideman said: “I thought it was in myself, I couldn’t believe he saved it.
“The goal just opened up for me, but he just made himself big and did well.”
Hall, who was making his first start since December 28, looked lively during his hour on the field. With Town taking over 2,200 supporters to the Kassam Stadium, the ex-Southend and Leeds attacker knows has joined the right club too.
