Christian Walton: 8 - Thankful to the woodwork for coming to his rescue on three separate occasions, but handling was spot on again and is looking a real dependable presence between the posts.
Stephen O’Donnell: 8.5 - Kept his wits about him to clear from the lurking McCormack on more than one occasion in the first half. Always an outlet going forward too and put in some more decent crosses from the right wing.
James Justin: 8.5 - One of the most accomplished senior debuts you could wish to see as looked like he had been playing at left back all his life. Never once overawed by the magnitude of the evening and proof that he is a genuine option for Jones now.
Glen Rea: 8.5 - Dropped back into the centre of defence alongside Mullins, further showcasing the versatility within the squad. Got luck when early clearance hit the bar, but relished the challenge to show just why he has brought to the club.
Johnny Mullins: 8.5 - Another who was saved by the crossbar in the second period, but proving a very fine addition to the side already. Led the side well, won his headers, and kept the likes of McCormack and then Gestede under wraps for the majority.
Olly Lee: 8.5 - Really came to the fore after Town settled down, breaking up play when needed to, but more importantly, showed a calmess on the ball and playing out from defence on the floor to get his side going again.
Cameron McGeehan: 8.5 - Always available to receive passes from the back, turn and try to set attacks going. Trademark run got him in exactly the right position to put Luton 2-1 in front as he is definitely thriving on his clearly defined role within the side.
Jake Gray: 8.5 - Lovely finish after taking Mpanzu’s through ball with a cool finish that boss Jones spoke of when signing him. Slotted into the attacking role comfortably and great to see Hatters having plenty of scoring threats now.
Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu (STAR MAN): 9 - Wonderful display from Mpanzu who was one of the main people to wrest control back from Villa after they dominated play early on. Took the game to the Championship side and was unplayable for spells, with his powerful, rampaging bursts forward.
Danny Hylton: 9 - Summer signing continues to catch the eye with his all-round play, as the home fans lapped it up. Such a threat in the air, but so much more than your typical big man, as his fancy footwork threatened to bring the house down at times.
Jack Marriott: 8.5 - A constant menace to the Villa defence - as his pace and willingness to chase and harry made him a threat all night. Unlucky not to find the target as denied by Bunn more than once.
Scott Cuthbert (SUB): 6 - Could consider himself unlucky not to start, but was solid as Town closed the night out.
Jonathan Smith (SUB): 5.5 - Came on in the closing stages to add some fresh legs to the midfield.
Isaac Vassell (SUB): 5.5 - Nice moment to make his debut with Luton 3-1 up and cruising.
