Hatters rated v Stoke City

Stephen O’Donnell: 7.5 - Appears a lot more comfortable at right back than he had done as wing back previously. Always looking to bomb on which occasionally saw Town caught out defensively at times.

Scott Griffiths: 8 - Was back to something like his best after a tough start to the season. Defensively sound and a marvellous cross led to Luton’s leveller. Desperately unlucky with penalty too.

Scott Cuthbert (STAR MAN): 9.5 - Magnificent from the centre half as he blunted almost everything Stoke could throw at him. Quickly becoming one of the first names on John Still’s team sheet.

Luke Wilkinson: 9 - Partnership with Cuthbert oozed quality and looked increasingly assured. Defender is becoming a real crowd favourite too with his committed displays, giving boss Still real food for thought now.

Mark O’Brien: 7.5 - Gave Hatters’ back four some welcome protection and didn’t let an early booking affect him. Openly admits to prefer playing in defence but held up well against Premier League opposition.

Jonathan Smith: 9 - Tremendous from the midfielder who was still running as strongly in extra time as he had been at the start. Covered so much ground and distributed possession intelligently too.

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu: 7 - Caused some moments of concern for Town’s illustrious opponents when he drove at them from deep in enemy territory. Ran out of steam slightly as he had put a decent shift in.

Olly Lee: 7.5 - Impressive debut from the midfielder who lived up to the passer tag from Still. Kept things moving nice when Town were able to get on the ball, although probably best not keeping shooting from the halfway line!

Danny Green: 6.5 - Tough for the winger to get fully involved as Stoke stroked the ball around with ease at times, particularly during the first period. Summer signing can only benefit from more minutes under his belt though.

Josh McQuoid: 7 - Did what he could as the lone frontman in the hour that he had. Plenty of effort and some promising touches as he brought others into play whenver possible.

Cameron McGeehan (SUB): 9 - This was more like the player who played against Luton for Cambridge. Attacking position suits him down to the ground and hopefully Still persists with this from here. Real touch of Frank Lampard about the way he timed his run to equalise too.

Ryan Hall: 7.5 - Winger played his part in the goal with some great vision to pick out Griffiths’ run on the flank. Hopefully clear of injury now and can show the sort of form he is clearly capable of.

Paul Benson: 7 - Striker gave Luton a good out ball particularly late in the game as he held possession well, allowing Hatters some welcome breathing space.
