Luton Town striker Jack Marriott has been rewarded for his promising start to life at Kenilworth Road with an contract extension until June 2017.
The 20-year-old had signed a one year deal after joining from Ipswich Town in the summer, but a prolific pre-season campaign, followed by a double in the 3-1 Capital One Cup win over Bristol City saw Hatters quickly offer him a longer stay.
“Hopefully I’ll get more chances, more time to play and continue with some more goals.”Jack Marriott
Marriott’s new contract also includes triggers that could see it extended for a further two years until June 30, 2019.
Speaking to the official website, Marriott said: “It feels really great to get the extra year, so there’s more security now so I can really push on and concentrate on my football more than anything.
“Like I said when I first came to the club, I pride myself on my goal-scoring and my all round game is getting better and better every week so hopefully I’ll get more chances, more time to play and continue with some more goals.
“I’m just hoping to get in the team when I can and do well for the team.”
