Striker Ricky Miller netted twice on his return as Luton Town won 3-0 at AFC Wimbledon in their Final Third Development League clash last night.
The 26-year-old who has been out with a foot injury, scored once in each half, with U18s attacker Leeroy Maguraushe also on target.
Hatters fielded Luke Rooney, Alex Wall Paul Connolly and Andy Parry in their side, but were forced into an early change when Parry went off injured, with Kyran McGhan-George coming on.
Luton made a bright start as Miller was stopped by Mark Phillips, before he failed to convert Wall’s dangerous cross.
Town youngster Daril Ngwala was then denied by keeper Joe McDonnell after going through one-on-one, with Hatters stopper Liam Gooch also called into action, deflecting Dan Agyei’s effort away.
Miller was foiled by McDonnell again, but Luton’s pressure finally told just before half-time when Luke Trotman’s through ball was emphatically finished by Miller.
After the break, Wimbledon almost levelled when Egli Kaja headed against the bar, while David Fitzpatrick then fired over.
Kaja also flashed wide again, but Luton had a second when Miller broke away to clinically beat McDonnell.
Hatters then sealed victory when Maguraushe’s 30-yard strike flew into the net, as Dons couldn’t force a consolation, Gooch saving well from David Fitzpatrick.
