Disappointed departing centre-half Garry Richards has expressed his gratitude to everyone at Luton Town following his retirement.
A serious ankle injury has ended the 27-year-old’s career, who never got a chance to play a competitive game for the Hatters after signing from Gillingham last summer.
He tweeted: Very sad to announce that I have had to retire from professional football due to the complications from breaking my leg last year.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have showed their support over the years and wish all my previous employers all the very best in the years ahead!!
“Thanks also to all those that have invested their efforts in an attempt to be able to return.”
