Luton Town striker Alex Wall has been sent back to Kenilworth Road by Vanarama Conference side Bristol Rovers.
The 24-year-old, who joined Rovers on transfer deadline day, had been due to remain at the Memorial Stadium until January 4.
But after making just two starts and four substitute appearances without scoring, manager Darrell Clarke told the Pirates official webite: “Alex has returned to Luton a week early.
“He did well for us against Gateshead just before Christmas but was disappointing when he went on at Torquay, which wasn’t what I was looking for.
“He has all the attributes to be a decent striker, but sometimes things just don’t work out and I would like to thank him for his efforts whilst he was with us and wish him every success in the future.”
After the news was made public, Wall himself tweeted: “Shame it didnt go to plan at @Official_BRFC always gave 100%, all the best for promotion.”
