Henry on target as Dunstable down Frome

Southern League Premier Division: Frome Town 0 Dunstable Town 1

Dunstable Town ended their three game losing run with a fine 1-0 win at Frome Town on Wednesday, courtesy of Charlie Henry’s strike.

After conceding 11 goals in their previous two matches too, the clean sheet was a welcome plus for the Blues.

Dunstable were without Shane Blackett and Tony Burnett, although Garry Jones returned, while the visitors could only name three substitutes too.

Frome started well, with a free kick just outside the box being blocked, while keeper Charlie May was almost caught out with the ball at his fee, but recovered to clear just in time.

However, on 25 minutes, Henry netted what proved to be the winner, taking Chris Marsh’s pass and firing a fierce angled shot into the net.

Luke Ruddick shot straight at Darren Chitty, with the keeper also saving well from Elliot Bailey.

Adam Watkins had an effort blocked too, while in the second half, Tony Fontanelle and Wharton were introduced.

Marsh’s speculative lob was narrowly wide, while Henry hit the post and David Lynn saw his effort well saved.

The Blues looked secure at the back too, although Steven Gregory had to head clear off the line, but once he had, Dunstable held on for a welcome three points.

This weekend, Town visit Banbury United.
