The 32-year-old, who has scored four times in 34 games this term, had to hobble off after just 15 minutes of the contest at Home Park, and is seeing a specialist today.

Boss Nathan Jones was unsure if the former Peterborough and Brighton forward would be available again though, saying: “We’re going to lose him for a little spell if I’m honest because of the injury he picked up at Plymouth, so he won’t be involved.

“He’s seeing someone today, so it’s not going to be be days, it’s going to be weeks more than days.

“With time running out, with five weeks left of the season, it might be a tight one for Craig, but we’ll see.

“He’s a strong boy and heals quite quickly, so hopefully we can get him back.

“It’s unfortunate for him. It was an innocuous little challenge, he was actually doing the defending, so it’s a blow for him, a blow for us.

“But he’ll come back, he’s fit, he’s strong, he’s an excellent professional, so he’ll be back strong.”

Meanwhile, there was better news over Dan Potts, who missed Monday’s trip to Barnet also with an ankle injury as Jones added: “Pottsy’s a lot closer than Craig. We’re going to have to monitor that, we’ve got 48 hours before the game and hopefully if we can get all those who have got little niggles back, it will be a plus for us.”
