Kent can clinch title at The 61 FC (Luton)

Kent Athletic can officially clinch the SSML Division Two title with just a point at The 61FC (Luton) tonight.

Ath’s 5-0 win at Grendon Rangers at the weekend effectively confirmed the title.

They are six points clear of Hale Leys United in second place and have a vastly superior goal difference, with Old Bradwell United only able to reach 78 points now too.

Deon Putnam scored two of the goals on Saturday, with one apiece for Jack Magill, Michael Moss and Jason Penman to secure Kent’s 25th victory in 28 league games.

Wednesday night’s opponents The 61FC (Luton) will be looking for points to haul themselves off the bottom of the table.

They earned a creditable 1-1 draw at Tring Corinthians on Saturday, Ryan Smith getting their goal.

On Saturday Kent host Tring Corinthians while The 61FC are at home to Grendon Rangers.

The 61FC are aiming to put a very disappointing campaign behind them with a fresh start – and they are looking to recruit new managers and coaches for all three sides.

New faces are welcome for the first team competing in SSML Division Two, second string in SSML Reserve Division North & West and their Sunday side.

Totternhoe’s two most recent league games, at Clean Slate last Tuesday and at home to Loughton Manor on Saturday, both ended goalless.

They lost the Division Two Cup final 3-2 to Hale Leys United on Monday.

They visit Aston Clinton on Wednesday night and finish at home to Pitstone & Ivinghoe on Saturday.
