Kent hit The 61 FC for six in derby goalfest

Kent Athletic took the Luton derby spoils in an eight goal thriller at home to The 61 FC (Luton), winning their SSML Division Two clash 6-2 last Wednesday.

Patrick Daly scored two for Kent, alongside strikes from George Higley, Michael Moss, Jason Penman and Simon Richards, to keep their side second in the table.

Ross Bedford and Jordan Browne netted for The 61 FC (Luton) who are second from bottom.

Daniel Woolsey scored the only goal for Totternhoe in a 3-1 defeat at home to Wolverton Town on Saturday.

The Totts’ scheduled Division Two cup final against Hale Leys United on Monday was postponed.

Kent Athletic were due to host Stony Stratford Town last night (Tuesday).

On Saturday they are at home to Wolverton Town, while The 61 FC (Luton) go to league leaders Hale Leys United and Totternhoe visit Grendon Rangers.

In SSML Reserve Division South & East, Crawley Green Reserves notched up their 11th successive victory after coming from 2-1 down to beat Oxhey Jets 6-2.

Leading scorer Rob Newman scored a hat-trick, Jake Alderson a brace and Lewis Billington a 45-yard wind assisted goal.

That result followed a 1-0 win over Harpenden Town last Tuesday, Tom Pemberton on the mark.

Matthew White scored in AFC Dunstable Reserves’ 1-1 draw at Harpenden Town.

In Reserve Division North & West, The 61 FC (Luton) (Luton) Reserves beat Pitstone & Ivinghoe 2-1.

In reserve action this weekend The 61 FC (Luton) host Totternhoe, while Crawley Green – who were due to play at Hoddesdon Town last night – are at home to Wodson Park.
