The Eagles boss Alan Pardew revealed he will bring the 19-year-old, whose last game was at AFC Hayes in front of just 54 people, with him to gain experience of the big occasion.

On Anderson, who scored a hat-trick in six minutes against Palace for Brentford in a development game prior to his move, Pardew said: “He’s a player who came to our attention late and there was little bit of interest in him from other clubs.

“He played against us in the U21s and just caught our eye. It’s a great opportunity for him and a similar route I took from non-league, so he’ll have a ympathetic eye from my point of view for him to progress.

“Six minutes (to get a hat-trick) isn’t bad. He’s just got a chance, it’s opportunity for him and he trained with us.

“I have put him in the squad for Leicester, I think it will be good experience for him to see what goes on.

“Keshi’s now a Palace player and he’ll be classed the same as Jordon Mutch, who has cost £4.5m.”

Anderson scored his first goal for Palace in the U21 win over Millwall on Tuesday and Rovers chairman Darren Whiley added: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for Keshi. He has worked hard over the last few months and has shown what great talent he has.

“Its been a hectic few weeks with clubs chasing him but all credit to Keshi he has kept his feet on the ground and just got on with his job of scoring goals.

“All of us at Barton Rovers wish him the best of luck at Palace.

“Hopefully one day he will grace the turf at Sharpenhoe Road again.”
