Lee rejects notion of a fear factor at Kenilworth Road

Although Town beat Hartlepool at home in their last outing, they have only registered four victories from 16 matches in front of their own fans this season.

Ahead of tonight’s clash with Morecambe, when asked if it had an affect on the side, Lee said: “Not at all, it doesn’t enter the player’s mind.

“It’s just one of those things where unfortunately we haven’t got the win and then it builds up and builds up and then becomes something silly really.

“It shouldn’t happen, but it has happened, but thankfully we’re over that hurdle now and we can push on and make Kenilworth Road a fortress.”

With seven games left at home, Lee knows it’s vital that they put together a long overdue winning run, as he continued: “We want to get better results at home and show the fans what we’re really about.

“No-one really knows why, but hopefully we got that win last weekend so we can kick on now.

“We want to go out and dominate the game against Morecambe, score as many goals as we can and hopefully keep a clean sheet too.”

Boss Nathan Jones was also looking forward to another game in front of the home supporters, and didn’t feel there was any less pressure after securing the three points against Pools.

He added: “That’s something that outside influences dictate. It was nice to get a home win because then people don’t talk about it, now we’ve got the home win, lets hopefully get another one so it’s dead and buried.

“I’m looking forward to the game, it’s at Kenilworth Road, I love games there. Night games have a little bit of an edge, bit of dew on the grass if you like.

“I like being at Kenilworth Road, I love it. That’s why I came here. I know the fans are demanding, they’re right to be demanding.

“Hopefully they will see a side they can be proud of that works for them, grafts for them, and then if they just look at it clinically, they’ll see ‘I can get behind these players.’

“That’s what we want and that’s what we need because the fans play such a big part. If they keep going and keep believing in what we’re doing then the players are going to do that and hopefully we can get results.”
