The pair, who were released from Charlton and Brighton last week. finished the season on loan with Luton and on trying to bring them in over the summer, Jones said: “They’re in our position criteria in terms of our list, both are on our list.

“Now whether we are able or whether we choose to bring those two in is another thing.

“They’re two players I know very well and really like, two players who have done well for us.

“Glen did very well and Joe finished the season in excellent form or the form I know he can produce.

“They are two that are within our recruitment list.

“Without putting pressure on anything, they are two that we knew and we like, so there maybe a deal to be done, you never know.”

Rea has attracted the interest of former club Southend, with boss Phil Brown revealing he would be talking to the centre half.

However, Jones felt that was to expected, as he added: “They’re two good young players, I wouldn’t have brought them in if they weren’t.

“If we’re interested in them, then I believe they’re going to get interest from elsewhere.

“The ones we want to sign aren’t ones that don’t have interest from elsewhere and that’s why we’ve had to put the work in we have, that’s part and parcel of recruitment.”
