Luton Council confirm receipt of Hatters' Power Court planning application
Luton Borough Council have confirmed they have received a planning application from Luton Town FC for a new ground at Power Court and an enabling facility at Newlands Park, Junction 10.
The Hatters are looking to build a 17,500 all seater stadium on the site and develop land they own near Junction 10 of the M1 with retail, leisure and office facilities to help fund the Power Court move.
A statement on the Council’s Facebook page said: “Luton Borough Council has received a planning application submitted by 2020 Developments Ltd on behalf of Luton Town Football Club regarding the site at Power Court.
“At the same time, the Council has also received a planning application from the same company for the site adjacent to Junction 10 to 10A M1, Newlands Road.
“The planning application for Power Court is for a new football stadium with ancillary stadium-related facilities, residential floor space, flexible educational / community / commercial uses, hotel accommodation, retail, food and drink, a food store, car and cycle parking and associated access, highways, utilities, public realm, landscaping, river works and associated ancillary works and structures.
“The planning application for the site adjacent to Junction 10 to 10A M1 is for office floor space, retail floor space, food and beverage floor space, leisure floor space, a hotel, car and cycle parking and associated access, highways, utilities, public realm, landscaping, and associated ancillary works and structures.
“The applications have only just been received and are therefore going through their initial stages of registration and validation.
“Once the process is complete, the Council will be in a position to publish the full details on the below link where residents will have the opportunity to express their views and register for updates. The Council will keep residents informed of their progress of this application.
“We will also be conducting a comprehensive public consultation regarding the two planning applications for residents to have their say.”
