Luton ladies hammer QPR

LADIES FOOTBALL: Luton Town Ladies racked up another superb pre-season victory with an excellent 7-3 win against Premier League Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, following on from a 3-0 win at Gillingham recently.

Hatters fell behind to a heavily deflected shot but responded quickly with goals from Zara Carroll, Lydia Radley and Michelle Byrne.

A slow start to the second half allowed the Hoops back into the game as they drew level, but Town regained the initiative within seconds when Rebecca Kane forced a Rangers defender to put through her own goal.

A fine solo strike from Rebecca Scott and two more well placed free-kicks from Carroll helped her to complete her hat-trick.

Nic Henman also netted a hat-trick against the Gills and Luton play Kettering Town this Sunday before their South East Combination League season starts in earnest against newly-promoted Arlesey Town.
