All the odds as Hatters head to Pompey

Luton’s suffered back-to-back league defeats for the second time inside six weeks as John Still’s side lost vital ground on those in the three automatic promotion places.

The Hatters suffered their first league defeat at Kenilworth Road since September losing 3-2 to Morecambe after an 86th minute own goal from defender Luke Wilkinson and subsequently eased to 13/8 (from 10/11) for promotion with BetVictor.

A haul of three points from a possible 15 has halted the promotion push however and it looks increasingly likely that Luton will have to do things the hard way, enduring the agony and ecstasy of the play-offs; with preference for the latter.

Three of those four defeats have come against sides in the top-half of the table however and have Luton have an opportunity to return to winning ways when heading to the south coast at the weekend.

After starting the season as the ante-post favourites for promotion Portsmouth find themselves in the wrong half of the table and 25/1 outsiders to achieve a top-seven finish; let alone promotion.

BetVictor make Pompey the 13/10 favourites with home advantage, Luton 12/5 and the draw likewise however with the hosts’ winless in their last three they must be opposed at the prices.

Andy Awford’s side have kept just one clean sheet from their last five games, while Luton, despite losing four of their last five games, have netted two or more goals three times in that spell and they can return to winning ways with the minimum of fuss; 13/2 to win and both teams to score and 4/1 to win the game to nil with BetVictor.

The 2-0 correct score appeals at the price of 16/1 with the scorecast of Hatters’ striker Jordan Stockley netting the opener in a 2-0 win again appealing at a speculative 80/1.
