All the odds as Town take on Tamworth

The welcome three points still leaves the Hatters 10 points off a play-off spot but with Grimsby, seemingly, in free-fall in fifth place could the impossible happen?

Town still have 27 points to play for and there did indeed look like cause for optimism midweek when the margin of victory should have been substantially more than Steve McNulty’s solitary goal against Stockport.

Yes it is mindless optimism but the Hatters are 100/1 for promotion at betvictor.com and an appealing 8/11 at betvictor.com to take all three points from Tamworth who are seven points above the bottom four and gained their first win in five when beating Southport on Tuesday night.
