Brabin hopes to have Carden on board

Experienced midfielder Paul Carden is helping his old friend Gary Brabin out at Kenilworth Road by taking on some of the coaching duties at Luton, writes Mark Wood.

Having parted ways with Cambridge United this summer, Carden, 32, who was on loan at Luton at the tail end of last season, has again linked up with Brabin after he served as his assistant at Cambridge.

Brabin said: “Paul has just left Cambridge and he is helping us out on the coaching side.

“I think everyone knows we had a good working relationship with him in the past and we will see how it progresses.

“Hopefully if everything goes right I would like to have him on board.

“Alan Neilson is still the assistant manager and Alan and I have a good relationship and Alan and Paul have a good relationship now which is pleasing.”
