Brabin ready for Airbus test

LUTON Town manager Gary Brabin is expecting another tough encounter when his side continue their Welsh tour at Airbus UK Broughton this evening, writes Mike Simmonds.

Hatters were beaten 3-0 by TNS on Sunday afternoon on a special 3G surface, while although Airbus went down to a 4-1 defeat to FC United of Manchester, Brabin thinks they will be strong opponents.

He said: “The squad will be back on grass and we are a team that tries to play football the right way.

“I think it will be a good game for us. Sunday definitely stood the lads in the right stead and I’m delighted with that.

“They (Airbus) will be a good opposition for us. In terms of fitness, I was quite pleased with Sunday and if we can build on that Tuesday, I’ll be delighted.”

Trialists Will Antwi and Drewe Broughton both turned out for Town at TNS and Brabin is likely to give them an another opportunity to try and win a contract tonight.

He added: “At the minute, Drewe is training with us and Will wanted to come in and prove himself.”
