The Hatters, who fielded James Shea in goal for the opening 45 minutes, led 2-0 at the break courtesy of Dion Pereira’s brace.

The 21-year-old opened the scoring on 16 minutes, cutting in from the left hand side to finish with his right foot from just inside the area.

He then doubled the lead moments before half time, beating his man on the right this time, before rifling home left-footed.

However, Town, who had the likes of TQ Addy and Sam Beckwith in their ranks, while also giving five trialists a run-out, couldn’t hold on to their lead in the second period.

They conceded two penalties, converted by Dominic Samuel and Robbie McKenzie, with the latter then heading home the winner with just over 10 minutes to go.
