Chelsea development squad head coach Andy Myers is the latest to be linked with the managerial vacancy at Kenilworth Road after seeing his odds cut to 14/1 by SkyBet this morning.

The 46-year-old started his career at Stamford Bridge, making over 100 appearances, while he also played for Bradford City, Portsmouth, Colchester United and Brentford, capped by England at U20 and U21 level too.

After retiring, Myers spent 10 years working as an academy coach at Chelsea, leading the U15s before moving up to assist with the U19s and U21s, and was part of the backroom team that helped secure consecutive triumphs in the UEFA Youth League, plus a league title for the U21s in 2013/14.

He spent a season in a coaching role at Vitesse Arnhem in 2016/17 before returning to Cobham to assist Joe Edwards with the development squad in 2017/18.

Myers succeeded Jody Morris in the role of U18s manager when Morris left to work with Frank Lampard at Derby County, and guided the young Blues to a third-place league finish, before being appointed Chelsea development squad head coach in the summer of 2019.

The favourite to replace Graeme Jones, even though Luton have confirmed they are not looking to make an appointment until they know if and when the season will restart, remains former manager Nathan Jones at 2/5, with Mick Harford second at 10/1.

Ex-St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright is third favourite at 12/1 with Myers now alongside Newport County manager Michael Flynn and former Hull City chief Nigel Adkins at 14/1.

Priced at 16/1 are Alan Sheehan, Chris Coleman, Gareth Ainsworth, Ian Evatt, Michael Duff, Paul Tisdale and Steve Robinson.
