Full back Dan Potts is expected to miss Luton’s start to the 2020-21 Championship season after suffering what manager Nathan Jones has described as a 'comedy' injury.

The 26-year-old didn’t feature in Town’s final two games of last season after picking up a knock as the Hatters stayed up, but has now suffered a fresh blow and is unlikely to be fit in time for the Carabao Cup clash with Norwich, or the campaign opener at Barnsley.

With the former West Ham player absent, Jones will look to bolster his defence in the transfer window, as Brendan Galloway works his way back to full fitness following his serious knee injury.

The Town boss said: “Dan Potts has picked up an injury.

“I can't tell you the circumstances and it’s nothing sinister, a bit of a comedy really, but he's picked up an injury that's going to keep him out for a few weeks to be he honest with you.

“So we're looking to strengthen in that area as well because we want to.”
