Attacker Harry Cornick admitted that the 4-0 defeat to Cardiff on Saturday came as something of a shock to the Hatters.

Town headed to Wales on the back of a four game unbeaten run, but saw that hanging by a thread after just nine minutes, conceding twice with Sean Morrison and Mark Harris on target.

After the break, Kieffer Moore and Sheyi Ojo netted to hand out a worst defeat of the season to Luton, with the visitors looking defensively weak throughout the 90 minutes.

Speaking ahead of tonight's home clash against Norwich City, Cornick said: “It was a shock to us really.

“I thought we were going into the game in good form, I thought we were set up right, we started well, we knew what we were doing, we just got knocked away in the first 10 minutes and then never really recovered.

“It was a really tough game physically for the lads and we got out-battled and out-played which is unusual for us as that’s something that we’re usually very good at.

“We usually battle well and pick up second balls and fight for the game a bit, that just didn’t pay off for us on the day.

"Training’s been good the last two days, everyone’s in high spirits going into the next game.

"We can’t let the one game define us, we’ve got to keep the momentum going and keep going as we have been as I think we’ve had a really good start to the year.

"Cardiff played really well, they were very physical, we knew what we were going into and we couldn’t handle it on the day.

"We’ve got to dust ourselves down as we were in great form before that.

"I thought we were playing really well, so it’s an off day for us, but it's great to have a game on a Wednesday night at home to put it right."
