The Hatters are currently ninth in the Championship table, level on points with Middlesbrough, and just one point off a play-off place.

Nathan Jones’ men have won four of their opening eight league matches this term, and go into this weekend’s clash off the back of a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in midweek.

By contrast, Brentford will feel that they have started the campaign poorly, and look to be feeling the effects of losing star men Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma in the transfer window.

Despite reaching the play-off final last term and coming to within 90 minutes of a place in the Premier League, the Bees have laboured for much of the early exchanges of this season, and currently lie 11th in the table.

But Prutton believes there will be little to separate the two teams at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.

Writing for Sky Sports, the pundit predicts a 2-2 draw.

Luton have enjoyed mixed fortunes against Thomas Frank’s side in recent times.

Last November they suffered a humiliating 7-0 defeat at Griffin Park, but fared much better in the reverse fixture in February, running out 2-1 winners.

A Martin Cranie strike and a Brentford own goal were enough to seal all three points for the Hatters, with the result helping to mark the start of a resurgent run of form in the second half of the campaign.
