The 27-year-old, who was released by Bradford City in the summer, penned a one year deal at Kenilworth Road on Thursday after starring for the League One club last year.

On his move to Hatters, Doyle said: “When they were in the Championship, it was sad to see a big club drop down the leagues.

“From an outsider looking in, it is a massive club and you just want to try and help them get back to where it needs to be.

“There were a few options, but you’ve got to take the one that’s right for you.

“When Luton came in, there was no other place I wanted to go.

“You see the results that Luton had last year and how comfortably they won the league.

“You just think to yourself, to do that in the Conference league and then come up to League Two, is a massive achievement.

“You just want to be a part of whatever happens next.”

Although Hatters might not have had the best of beginnings to life back in league two, Doyle has seen enough in training to believe they can mount another challenge.

The midfielder was not fit enough to be considered for the matches against Cheltenham and York, but is working over time to get up to speed.
