Defender Brendan Galloway is ready to be called upon if needed by Town chief Nathan Jones

The 24-year-old hasn’t made a competitive first team appearance in over a year, his last outing coming in the 7-0 defeat at Brentford on November 30, 2019, stretchered off due to a horrific knee injury.

Galloway, who has made just five appearances in total since arriving at Kenilworth Road under previous manager Graeme Jones following his release by Premier League Everton, did get some minutes during pre-season and has been named on the bench for the last two games against Norwich City and Swansea City.

When asked if he was a viable option, Jones said: “He’s ready, he’s been training on and off, he’s been training longer than (Dan) Potts really and then had a little bit of setback, but he’s pretty much been training since pre-season.

“He just had a little bit of a setback, three weeks out with a hamstring injury, but he’s been back in and we haven’t rushed him because of the injury we had prior to that.”
