Luton's on-loan Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has thanked the Hatters fans for their amazing support during his season spent at Kenilworth Road in the coronavirus pandemic.

The 22-year-old made his 40th and final appearance for the club in yesterday's 3-1 defeat at QPR, scoring his third goal moments before the break, while he finished with seven assists, the joint highest along with Harry Cornick.

Dewsbury-Hall has been a massive hit with Luton followers, despite only playing in front of a combined 3,000 of them in the two matches against Norwich City and Preston North End when a small number were allowed back into stadiums, the remaining matches all taking place behind closed doors.

Writing on Twitter this evening, the Foxes youngster, whom Town boss Nathan Jones revealed he would everything he could to try and entice back for a second term, said: "Thank you Luton Town Football Club.

"I won't forget this as my 1st full season in senior football - everyone at the club has played a big part in helping me evolve as a player, as well as a person.

"Although I haven't met many of you in the flesh, and didn't get to experience a full Kenny, I've felt an enormous amount of love from the supporters online which I'm so grateful for and that's a credit to the fanbase.

"It's been tough at times but I'm happy we've managed to solidify Luton Town as a proper Championship club and long may that continue onto bigger and better things in the coming years.

"I wish everyone all the best for the future.

"I'll look back on my times and memories at Luton so fondly."

Speaking to the press after season-ending loss at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, Dewsbury-Hall added: "I'll take so many happy memories, it’s been such a great productive year.

"I've got not on bad word to say about Luton, they're a fantastic club and I'm just so happy I made the decision to come here at the start of the season as it's been everything that I thought it would be and more.

"It’s a credit to the club and thank you.

“The only downside I’ve had of this loan is that I’ve not been able to experience a full Kenilworth Road and the fans in full voice, that’s the only thing that I’ll be upset about coming away from this loan move.

"I’m just happy that they’ve been able to watch online and I've been able to show the fans what I can do as that was my aim.

"They’re a fantastic fanbase, the support I've been receiving over social media has been overwhelming so I can only thank them for that."
