Franks wants another party against Rovers
Town’s travelling army of 2,000 fans turned Welling’s Park View Road into a home ground yesterday, celebrating the champions’ 2-1 win in some style.
An outpouring of joy greeted the final whistle, with Town’s players and management mobbed by the throng of delirious supporters.

“They were some great scenes and it was a good day for all involved.
“I want to end the season well and hope that Monday is a proper party. If we get the result that will be even more of a party.”
Franks, who had joined Town from Welling in January, knew that the hosts were never going to just roll over for his new side, as he continued: “They’re not a bad team Welling, especially at home.

With certain landmarks now on the horizon for Hatters, Franks believes there is still plenty to play for, despite the championship already in the bag.
He added: “We wanted to score some goals, reach a certain amount of points, all the boys stayed professional and we saw the job through.
“We’ve got personal things we want to do, clean sheets, goals, points, your own pride as well.

“I think we need one more to set the record for clean sheets in the league, so it was a shame we didn’t get it.
“It was a good finish, but we’ll take the three points.”
