On the 29-year-old, who Still first signed when in charge of Dagenham back in August 2004, before bringing him to Kenilworth Road a month after being appointed Town manager in February 2013, the boss said: “I’ve had Scott from 17 years old and his form sometimes dips, but if people looked at Scott Griffiths’ contribution to this club, it’s been immense.

“He’s part of that team that brought us up, part of that team that got us one out of the play-offs. He’s under pressure from his place from (Dan) Potts as well, so he’s got to keep producing, but he’s done terrific for this club.”

The boss had recently called on the defender to up his game, with some supporters critical of his early season displays, but Still urged fans to give the club’s players their full support going forward.

He added: “Supporters have moaned about Scott Griffiths, well I moan about Scott Griffiths, that’s my job. They should be encouraging him, I do it in a way where I dig him out then I go and put an arm around him and give him a cuddle.

“Scott Griffiths has been immense now, so you can’t run with the hare and hunt with the hounds, you’ve got to be with or not.

“We’re seeing Luton now getting back to consistent form that I think we can produce. Will we be great every week? No we won’t. But will we get stronger? Yes we will.”
