Town assistant boss Mick Harford paid tribute to club captain Sonny Bradley for the manner in which he performed during last night’s goalless draw at Coventry City following the tragic death of his father Ray this week.

The skipper hadn’t been expected to feature after missing the previous two games to be with his family, but was named in the starting line-up at St Andrew’s and played his part fully in the stalemate, helping Town to a fifth clean sheet of the season.

Speaking afterwards, Harford said: “It’s been a tough week for Sonny, and he was absolutely magnificent today.

“What he’s had to deal with, we all take our hat off to Sonny and we wish all his family all the best.

“We’re sorry for his loss, he gave a remarkable performance after what he’s been through this week.”

Team-mate Dan Potts was also eager to applaud the efforts of Bradley for being able to come back into the side and produce the performance he did after such a difficult week.

He added: “What he’s gone through the last week, he was no different tonight, led by example, the same Sonny I've played with for years.

“So that performance there that we all put in was definitely for him as well.

"Credit to the club, the performance he put in and I'm sure his family will be proud as well, so that was for Sonny.”
