The Town number two has been blown away by the outpouring of euphoria since Hatters were crowned Skrill Premier champions earlier this month.

More than 10,000 fans packed into Kenilworth Road as Luton lifted the trophy after beating Forest Green Rovers 4-1 and Harris said: “Since we’ve come here, we knew what a big club Luton is, but it really did get brought home to us.

“The expectation and the meaning of promotion for Luton Town back into the Football League, not only for the staff, but the supporters as well. To actually stand in the directors box and look out at the swathe of fans was unbelievable, absolutely fantastic.

“I think one of the things that’s really been brought home to me and to John as well is the depth of feeling for the club from above, from the board, and also the supporters as well.

“Unless you’re part of it, you really can’t experience it, that was something we will never certainly forget.”

The players joined fans on an impromptu night out in Luton after the 4-1 win over Forest Green Rovers, but Harris and the coaching staff stayed at the ground.

He continued: “We had relations and family around the ground.

“John, myself, Hakan (Hayrettin) and everyone pottered around here.

“I know the boys went out, and one of the radio stations said how fantastic it was the players were going out with the fans on apub crawl around Luton, so that was good.

“We’ve said to the players, enjoy this time as it doesn’t come around too often, take it on board.

“I thought on Monday it was absolutely fantastic, one of the highlights of my footballing career.”

Defender Scott Griffiths revealed that adding another winners’ medal to his collection was a superb feeling.

He said: “It’s been fantastic and leading up to the Forest Green game was fun.

“It’s just indescribable really, I don’t really know how to put it into words.

“There were a few first time league winners and the looks on their faces when we won the league was absolutely brilliant.”

Griffiths also praised Town’s legions of supporters for their efforts throughout the campaign too, adding: “t was incredible against Forest Green. Coming out at the start of the game, the roar was like having a 12th man.

“The fans have done their part and as the gaffer and Ronnie (Henry) said, if we can get that kind of support next season, hopefully they can help us push on in League Two as well.”
