Town forward Harry Cornick believes his side can take huge confidence from their 3-1 win over Norwich City in the Carabao Cup this season ahead of tonight’s league clash at Kenilworth Road.

Back on September 5, a James Collins hat-trick saw the Hatters earn safe passage to the next round, albeit against a much-changed Canaries side who were missing a host of players to international duty.

When asked if they could use that to their advantage this evening though, Cornick said: “Yes, massively, we played really well in that game.

“I thought it was a great opener into our season and what we were going to expect from the season ahead.

“So we need to go into it with confidence, we beat them this year and hopefully there’s a few more goals and another Collins hat-trick as well."

Cornick isn't doubting the challenge in front of Luton though, with Daniel Farke's side on a 10-game unbeaten run that has propelled them to the top of the Championship and look to be cementing their status as promotion favourites even at this early stage.

However, the attacker feels Town are well equipped to go up against their opponents, adding: "It’s a very tough game, they play a great style of football, it’s going to be a completely different game to what Cardiff tested us with (on Saturday) and their physicality.

“They’re more of a technical side, they get the ball down and play, I think we’re better against those sorts of side.

“We get into a good shape and we know what we’re doing against those sorts of teams.

“They’re a Premier League team with Premier League players so it's going to be a great test for us and one which we’ll relish.”
