A statement on the club’s official website said: “The Luton Town ticket office stopped selling tickets at 3pm on Friday having sold 1,197 to Town fans.

“Cheltenham have confirmed that the remaining 150 tickets of the away allocation will be available to purchase on the day via cash turnstiles, subject to availability.

“A huge thank you to those supporters who have purchased tickets.”

Midfielder Jake Howells, who made his 300th appearance for the club last week at Plymouth, was quick to praise the efforts of Town’s loyal fans as he said: “I’ve known it now for as long as I’ve been here. They’re brilliant away and at home especially when they get right behind us.

“It’s like an extra man with the big crowds we get, it’s brilliant for us.”

Meanwhile, team-mate Andy Drury added: “They travel everywhere, since Carlisle in the first game of the season, where he had 1,000 there.

“Hopefully we can keep kicking on and give them a bit of glory and promotion.”
