Hatters boss John Still recently admitted exclusively to the News/Gazette he had been in discussions with the 26-year-old over a move to Kenilworth Road, saying: “We’ve been talking to Abs so we’ll see how that works out.

“We’d like to do that, but there’ll be others interested in him so we’ll see.”

However, the Shrews, who won promotion to League One last season, announced Ogogo had penned a two-year deal with them this afternoon, as he told the club’s official website: “I’ve been to Shrewsbury a few times and came up and met the manager and the chairman.

“There were a few clubs involved and I wanted to take my time and make sure I made the right decision.

“After having a chat with the manager, I went home, thought about it and feel I have made the right decision.”
