Money quoted too much for central defender

UNREALISTIC demands scuppered David McGurk’s potential move to Luton Town last week, writes Mark Wood.

The Hatters had hoped to sign the 28-year-old York City defender on loan with the view to a permanent move, but the Minstermen were simply demanding too much money according to Hatters chief Richard Money.

On his attempts to sign the experienced centre-half, he said: “Too much money, end of story. I’m finding people in this league a little bit strange.”
