Hatters Q&A with striker Danny Crow

Each month, the Luton News-run fanzine Half Time Orange grabs hold of a player and asks him questions set by Hatters supporters.

This month, Danny Crow goes under the spotlight and to submit your questions for next month’s victim, follow @LutonNews_LTFC on Twitter.

Q - Have you set yourself a goals target this season?

I don’t like saying that – the first year at Cambridge I said I would score 50 and then I scored five! I haven’t done it since and when I didn’t, I scored 20 goals and 25 goals.

Q - What’s the highest level of football you think you can play?

I played in League Two and I don’t think there’s a lot of difference between that and the Conference.

I’ve been in League One squads with Peterborough. I’d like to think I can play Championship. I played against Charlton last season and didn’t feel out of place and ended up getting man of the match.

You’re at this level for a reason though. Obviously everyone aims to play as high as you can. The Premier League is a different level, but the Championship I’d like to have a crack at.

Q - What did you think of Big Ron Manager when that was on?

I was young, naive, and I can’t deny anything. A lot of things going on behind the scenes, they edit it and things like that. I’ve grown up a lot since then, but it didn’t help my career, put it that way.

Q - What’s your favourite flavour of monster munch?

Flaming Hot.

Q - Which side do you want to score against most this season?

York. I don’t not like them, but there’s something about them especially the away game.

Q - Did you really do the Youtube crossbar on the first take?

Yep, that’s real stuff.

Q - Would you ever consider playing in the MLS?

Yes I would. I like the way of life there and go there on holidays, I’ve been there since I was young. I would like to give that a crack. Some people from Notts County have gone there, so I wouldn’t mind giving it a bash.

Q - What job would you do if not a footballer?

I’d have probably gone to college. I’m not clever enough to go to university, so probably something to do with cars.

Q - Which team mate has the best taste in music?

Good one. Keano’s is quite good, but he’s always copying my music, so technically my music is the best. I like old funk, house, garage, the American scene, R&B, things like that.

Q - Who do you think will shine in Luton colours this season?

Adam Watkins. I think there’s a lot of young lads who’ve done well, but Adam Watkins has come on the most. JJ (O’Donnell) has come on the most since I’ve been at club, Christian (Tavernier) and Godders (Godfrey Poku), but it should be a good year for Adam.

Q - What’s your favourite cheese?

I don’t really eat cheese, but I’d say mature cheddar.

Q – What’s your pre-match routine?

I always kiss my tattoos I’ve got of my mum and dad, that’s about it.

Q - Lager or wine?

Lager – can’t you tell!

Q - How many pints can you down?

Me and Keano had a 10 pint challenge in the summer and lets just say we did it.

Q – Who is your biggest influence since becoming a footballer?

The obvious one is my parents. When I was young, Aidy Boothroyd my youth team coach at Norwich, he developed me a lot and I’ve got a lot of respect for him.

Q - Can Hatters go up this season?

Yep, we’ll win it!
