The hosts failed to take their chances in the first period, and saw hopes of a first clean sheet since October go up in smoke when Lee Tomlin scored the winner with 17 minutes remaining. See below for how the Hatters rated on the afternoon.
5. Cameron Carter-Vickers: 7
Stood up well to the aerial bombardment that came his way, particularly in the first period. Looked composed in possession too when receiving the ball from Sluga during what was a promising full league debut.
6. Glen Rea: 7
Once more he got stuck into his task well, particularly in the opening 45 minutes. Was turned by the quick feet of Tomlin at the crucial moment though, and quickly replaced as Town looked to find a leveller.
7. Ryan Tunnicliffe: 6
Had his moments in the first half, but scuffed one effort wide and then disappointingly chose to pick out Cornick rather than go for goal himself. Ironic cheers when substituted can't be good for his confidence.
8. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 7
Good energy on display as he got up and down the pitch well. Made one excellent clearing header inside his own box and then led some of Towns attacks upfield, while whizzing one thunderous half-volley just wide.
