Luton and play-off hopefuls Reading cancelled each other out during a 0-0 draw at Kenilworth Road last night. The Hatters went close through Jordan Clark in the first half, while James Collins might have won it at the death with a header, but Nathan Jones' side did extend their unbeaten run to three games. To find out how the hosts rated on the evening, see below.
5. Dan Potts: 7.5
Just the two positions for the defender on the night as he had to move into the middle of the back three for the final half hour and stood up well to do his job up against Carroll and ensure the hosts weren’t breached in the latter stages. Got away with one under-hit pass in the first half as Horvath saved the day, while he might have won it late on, volleying Jerome’s knockdown narrowly over. Photo: Liam Smith
6. Amari’i Bell (STAR MAN): 7.5
Was playing in his regular left wingback role in the first period, remaining there when Bradley was stretchered off. Had to then move into Luton’s back three after Lockyer couldn’t continue with an hour gone, as he dug in wholeheartedly to allow Town to add yet another point to their tally. Photo: Liam Smith
7. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 7.5
First start since last April as he was deployed in the holding midfield role to protect the back three. Content to get on the ball from his defence and get things moving, more often than not finding his team-mates. Made some good blocks and the fact he managed to get through the entire 90 after such a lengthy spell out is a real credit to him. Photo: Justin Setterfield
8. Allan Campbell: 7
Had to cover lots of grass on the night with Reading’s midfielders, particularly Ince, appearing to have plenty of space to work with. Early yellow when he caught the former Luton player, but he still got about the pitch to harry his opponents until replaced with 13 minutes to go. Photo: Justin Setterfield
