Luton made it five games unbeaten when held to a 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough on Saturday. The hosts took the lead through Glen Rea's third goal of the season, but were pegged back almost immediately, Duncan Watmore's deflected header beating Simon Sluga. To find out how the Hatters rated on the afternoon, see below.
1. Simon Sluga: 7
Unfortunate to be beaten as might have been in a position to stop Watmore’s header had it not deflected off Naismith. Came off his line to punch clear in the second period, while grateful his crossbar came to the rescue late on.
2. James Bree: 7.5
Positive intent from the re-energised full back throughout as he looked to get down the line. Took some excellent free kicks which caused problems for the visiting defence, while his inviting corner led to the Hatters goal.
3. Kal Naismith: 7
Unfortunate deflection saw Boro make it 1-1, while had his hands full with Kebano when isolated against the winger, almost dangling his leg out to concede a penalty. Header was instrumental in Luton’s opener and impressed when on the ball.
4. Matty Pearson: 7
His vocal presence throughout at the back helped Luton keep the Boro attackers on a tight leash as they had little time to settle, creating precious few clear-cut opportunities.
