Shandon Baptiste put through his own goal, while Martin Cranie volleyed home the second on the stroke of half time, as although OIlie Watkins pulled one back late on, Town hung on for a crucial victory. See how the Hatters players rated on the night below.
9. Luke Berry: 9
Once more got around the pitch for the entire 90 minutes as he was part of an attacking press that worked perfectly on the night. Set-pieces were a real danger as well, with both goals coming from his deliveries into the box.
10. Harry Cornick (STAR MAN): 9.5
Outstanding display from the attacker who not only ran himself into the ground, but did so in a manner that caused the visitors problems all night. Might have given Town added breathing space but for the legs of Raya.
11. Danny Hylton (SUB): 6.5
Had the final five minutes, but still managed to put himself about and occupy, plus annoy, the visiting defence as Hatters held on for a crucial three points.
12. James Collins: 8
Skipper for the night and put in a real shift upfront as Luton got their tactics spot on as to when to allow Brentford possession and when to press. Curled one attempt over, before cleverly winning the free kick for Cranie's belting volley.
