Luton ended their run of back-to-back defeats by beating Coventry City 2-0 at Kenilworth Road last night. James Bree's first ever senior goal gave Town the lead midway through the first half, before Elijah Adebayo's penalty just before the break sealed victory. To find out how the hosts rated on the evening, see below.
1. Simon Sluga: 7
Thankful that Biamou couldn’t take any of his trio of excellent chances, reacting well when the striker hit the post. Cleared his lines well when under pressure, although was lucky to win a free kick with one attempted punch clear late on.
2. Matty Pearson: 6.5
Couldn’t get to grips with the Coventry strikers early on as they created a number of opportunities with Luton never looking comfortable in a three-man back-line. Far more imposing after the break though, winning his headers with authority.
3. Glen Rea: 6
Had a bit of a torrid time in the first half as Luton’s defence were split open on numerous occasions. Looked far more comfortable when in his holding role during the second period as Town tightened up dramatically. Should have scored too.
4. Kal Naismith: 7.5
With Town’s offside trap not functioning, was fortunate to see Biamou leave his shooting boots at home. Once Town switched to a four man defence, he controlled proceedings with authority, making some clever interventions.
