Luton saw their poor away run continue with a 2-1 defeat at Reading on Boxing Day. The hosts were 2-0 in front after a desperately disappointing first half from the Hatters, who despite having the better of the second period, could only pull one back late on through Kazenga LuaLua's long-range strike. To find out how the visitors rated on the afternoon, see below.
13. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (SUB): 6.5
Like Norrington-Davies, his introduction saw Town immediately up their quality in midfield, as he got hold of the ball and moved it both left and right, allowing the visitors to dominate possession. Clever pass found LuaLua to make it 2-1.
14. Danny Hylton (SUB): 5
Had 45 minutes to try and get Town back into the game, but although he put in plenty of hard work, never really looked like finding the target for the first time this season, heading his best chance wide of the target.
15. Kazenga LuaLua (SUB): 5.5
Displayed some willingness to get forward and actually attack the Royals, as he took aim from range to beat Rafael and finally end Luton’s search for an away goal, although sadly it proved to be a mere consolation.
16. Harry Cornick (SUB): 4
Luton’s Boxing Day goalscoring specialist didn’t have any real opportunity to add to his tally, although his long throws into the areas caused a few late concerns to the home defence.
