The visitors had led through Tahith Chong’s third goal in five matches, but after the break, Issa Kabore put through his own net and then Heung-Min Son broke away to win it late with four minutes left. To find out how the Hatters players rated on the night, see below.
5. Teden Mengi: 7.5
Back after England U21 duty in the week, his no-nonsense approach at times enabled the centre half to repel the majority of Spurs' threats in whatever manner he could after the hosts had fallen behind. Brilliant positioning to make a quite outstanding block on the line from Sarr's thumping drive when it appeared he was destined to open the scoring. Another all-action display from the defender who continues to stand firm while others fall around him. Photo: Liam Smith
6. Alfie Doughty: 6.5
Thought he might have added a second for Luton when being picked out by Townsend's deep cross only to see his volley cannon off Pedro and behind, picking out Berry from the corner, the midfielder heading off target. Stepped in well to find Barkley for a shot that was saved, but having dealt with Kulusevski, the introduction of Johnson altered things dramatically, the Welsh international a constant menace with his give-and-go's. Somehow got the ball away a millimetre before it had crossed the line, but for the second game running, he got a knock and had to go off. Photo: Liam Smith
7. Ross Barkley: 7
Great start to the game as he was up in support of Townsend's run and then calmly slowed things down to pick the right pass to find Chong who was able to open the scoring. Early booking for a frustrated tackle after not getting a foul of his own, he did a good job in preventing Spurs from creating too much in the second half of the first period. Once the hosts levelled, he tried to put Town back in front, forcing Vicario to save low to his left, but just couldn't track the run of Son as the South Korean won it. Photo: Liam Smith
8. Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu: 6
Second successive start for the midfielder, who was unable to feature too much in the first half with his chances to get on the ball limited, having to instead get through plenty of running in a bid to try and close down his Spurs counterparts. That carried on after the interval too as the hosts became even more dominant with the introduction of Johnson. Almost played in by Clark during the final seconds of stoppage time only for the attack to break down. Photo: Liam Smith
