Hatters rated v Carlisle
Alex Lawless: 6 - Found it much harder this against a good winger in Asamoah. Tried showing the wideman inside, but wasn’t backed up by the rest of his team-mates.
Scott Griffiths: 6.5 - Best of Town’s defenders on a night to forget as he made some fine interceptions and was always trying to burst forward too. Found it hard to cope with introduction of Gilliead though.

Hide AdScott Cuthbert: 4 - Back to square one for the captain who had been showing signs of improvement. On a night where he needed to step up, kept giving away needless free kicks and was beaten far too easily for the first goal. A real worry now.
Mark O’Brien: 4 - Real chance to impress in his preferred central defensive position, but didn’t take it all. His partnership with Cuthbert was all at sea throughout as Carlisle could have scored even more.
Danny Green (STAR MAN): 7 - Wonderful cross for McQuoid’s header and a delightfully measured finish on the volley too. Brought in to get Luton going in an attacking sense and is doing just that.
Jonathan Smith: 6 - Had some good moments when going forward but couldn’t ever get a grip on United’s midfield pairing as too often he was easily bypassed.

Hide AdOlly Lee: 6.5 - Produced some moments of real genius when in possession once more and cleverly knitted the play together. However, defensively, Town’s midfield two were over-run on the night.
Cameron McGeehan: 5.5 - Wasted out on the left flank as clearly not a winger and doesn’t look happy out there. Switch is denying him the chance to do what he does best too, making his goalscoring runs into the box.
Jack Marriott: 6.5 - Moment of real quality for the goal as he took his chance superbly. Plenty of busy runs afterwards although did fade slightly in the second period as he made way for Mackail-Smith.
Josh McQuoid: 6.5 - Another strike makes it four in six games for the forward. Will relish Green’s run in the side now as all he needs to do is time are runs and there are plenty of goals to be had.

Hide AdCraig Mackail-Smith (SUB): 5 - Must have wondered what he has left himself in for this season. Within nine minutes of coming on, could only watch in anguish as Luton went from 3-2 up to 4-3 down.
Paddy McCourt (SUB): 5 - On to try and find an equaliser, but Town’s heads had dropped by then.
