Hatters rated v Newport County

Mark Tyler: 8 - Excellent display from Town’s stopper. Made some crucial point blank stops and commanded his area ever so well.

Michael Harriman: 7.5 - Bundle of energy once more as he did his job defensively and was always a willing outlet going forward too.

Scott Griffiths: 7 - Occasionally got caught out in advanced positions but his willingness to get forward helped push Newport back.

Steve McNulty: 8.5 - Captain was a rock at the back once more, with his aerial dominance absolutely crucial against a physical Newport side.

Luke Wilkinson: 8 - Got the opener to set Luton on their way and another who relished the challenges County threw his way.

Nathan Doyle: 8 - Did his job without fuss once more. Such an expert at regaining possession and distributing it wisely.

Jonathan Smith: 8 - Everywhere once more for Luton and both he and Doyle allowed Drury to be such an influence.

Andy Drury (STAR MAN): 8.5 - Easily his best display since returning to the club and if he can maintain this form, Town’s fans are in for a treat.

Luke Rooney: 8 - Anyone who needed convincing Rooney was worth a deal won’t be after this. Creative display and scored too.

Shaun Whalley: 6 - The only disappointment as he lacked conviction throughout and seemed to lose confidence as the game progressed.

Mark Cullen: 7.5 - Got through so much work once for his side upfront and had a few opportunities to make it into double figures.

Jake Howells (SUB): 7.5 - Fine display in his brief time out there, attacked with purpose and scored a lovely third.

Ross Lafayette (SUB): 6.5 - Again showed promise and wasn’t too far away from a first Luton goal too.
