Hatters set for windfall should QPR snap up Gray

Luton Town could be set for a hefty boost to their transfer kitty should former striker Andre Gray make his reported move to Championship side QPR.

The Loftus Road club, who were relegated from the Premier League last term, have been heavily linked with Gray, after R’s top scorer Charlie Austin was tipped to be heading back to the top flight with either Newcastle or Southampton his potential suitors.

Gray enjoyed a superb first season at Brentford after leaving Luton last summer, finishing as the club’s top scorer with 18 goals as they reached the play-offs, only to lose to Middlesbrough.

A fee of £4m has been suggested to acquire Gray’s services, and that could see Luton earn around £500,000 as the club confirmed they have a ‘healthy’ sell-on clause inserted in the deal which took him to Griffin Park for an undisclosed fee.

Gray, who scored 57 goals in 111 appearances during his time with the Hatters still has two years to run on his Brentford deal.
