Hatters first team coach Inigo Idiakez believes that having one of the best team ethics in the division will play a huge role in Town's chances of survival this term.

Luton go into the final 13 games now just four points adrift of safety having won their last two matches.

Speaking to the press yesterday, Idiakez believes that although Town don't have the star attractions of other sides in in the Championship, the togetherness at Kenilworth Road is second to none.

He said: “The important thing for me is if we go and give 100 per cent, then I think we’ll be all right in this division.

“As a team I think maybe we are one of the best teams in the league, not maybe as individuals, but as a team we are really good.

“We normally give everything and for me that’s key.

“That’s the message we want to send, with the fans, with the football club, with everyone.

"If we go to every single match from now and give everything, the last two months I think we’ll be all right in the division.

“But we have to give 100 per cent, no less, that's the message we have to send and they have to trust on us.

“Team is important, team, football club, you have to be all together, you have to work together.

"if you start thinking about next year, or start thinking about your contract or thinking about different things, it's important to get out from there.

"You come here, work together, do it for the team, do it for the football club, if not it'll be impossible, because all the teams have two or three really good players, with a lot of money and we need to be a team.

"I've said that before, and consistency is important as well, with that, we perform, we'll win football matches and I think we'll be all right."

Assistant boss Gary Brabin echoed the thoughts of Idiakez as well, saying: “No-one likes negativity, but I genuinely believe and we all believe, we think we’re one of the best sides in the league.

“I think the difference is all the other teams have that little bit of individual quality that can win them the game, we’ve got a good honest bunch of lads who have done an amazing job in the last few years.

“They’re competing at this level and as a team, every game we’ve played in, we can only think of two or three we haven't been competing as well as we can.

“Managers, coaching staff, teams have been very complimentary about the way we play and I believe that we are a good side, one of the best sides in the league, but we don’t have the luxury of an (Aleksander) Mitrovic who has got that little bit of quality who can win games.”

Town have another chance to show their team ethic at Charlton today, with over 2,500 fans travelling to the Valley to hopefully witness a third successive victory.

Idiakez called for the supporters to back their side throughout, adding: "I feel that from day one, this football club is like a family and the changing room we have that togetherness, which is important to get out of the situation.

"We really feel like we are right together with the fans, we are right together with the football club and that's important.

“Last season it was different, we were winning and winning and winning and when you're winning it's quite easy.

"When you're losing it's quite difficult, now you see the character of the players of the staff as well, so if you're not together, it's quite difficult.

“That’s what we need, that’s so important for us and the boys, definitely they feel that, the fans are behind us and the football club.

"It’s important to be in the Championship, we’re going to try our best and they’re going to do the same as the other day, so definitely the message is be behind us and we’ll give everything."
